Chapter 1: Where It All Begins
I have always been passionate about reading and writing. This passion led me to pursue college studies in literature. Yet, once I graduated, I no longer felt the same joy in reading. Entering the job market left me feeling lost, unsure of what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Little by little, I rediscovered my love for books and imagination. That rediscovery confirmed what I had always known — that my passion had never disappeared and was essential to my fulfillment.
My father, an entrepreneur for over 20 years, gave me a model of independence and freedom. Over time, I learned to value a career that allows one to be both economically responsible and deeply aligned with one’s passion. This realization led me to enroll in Business Management to strengthen my knowledge of entrepreneurship.
One mission: Celebrating humanity through words.

After a year of studies, I decided to explore the workforce to test my ambitions. Very quickly, one idea became clear: to create a place where my unwavering passion for books could meet my need for human connection. Why not open a warm and welcoming space where book lovers could gather, exchange, and share—without judgment?
Many still consider reading to be a useless or costly pastime. My goal is to challenge this misconception. By connecting with fellow book lovers in my community and engaging with readers internationally, I came to realize that reading still holds an essential place and deserves to be celebrated. Today, I wish to be an active part of ensuring its survival — and its radiance.

Merveilles & Chuchotements is much more than a bookstore: it is a space for connection, exchange, and discovery. We want to offer a warm environment where reading is something to be lived and shared. Each visit is meant to be a pause from the everyday — a moment to discover new authors and feel embraced by a community of passionate readers.
What makes us unique? A bookstore open to independent literature. We highlight novels that resonate — romance, fantasy, dystopia, thrillers, mystery — while giving a place of honor to independent authors. We believe that every story deserves to be read, and that literature should be accessible, alive, and celebrated.
